For brevity, these variants are not shown separately. Similarly, a date value is assumed to represent midnight in the TimeZone zone when comparing it to a timestamp.Īll the functions and operators described below that take time or timestamp inputs actually come in two variants: one that takes time with time zone or timestamp with time zone, and one that takes time without time zone or timestamp without time zone. When comparing a timestamp without time zone to a timestamp with time zone, the former value is assumed to be given in the time zone specified by the TimeZone configuration parameter, and is rotated to UTC for comparison to the latter value (which is already in UTC internally). Dates and timestamps (with or without time zone) are all comparable, while times (with or without time zone) and intervals can only be compared to other values of the same data type. In addition, the usual comparison operators shown in Table 9.1 are available for the date/time types. You should be familiar with the background information on date/time data types from Section 8.5. For formatting functions, refer to Section 9.8. Table 9.32 illustrates the behaviors of the basic arithmetic operators ( +, *, etc.). Table 9.33 shows the available functions for date/time value processing, with details appearing in the following subsections. The Nittany Lions started the shortened season in 2020 with a one-point loss in Indiana. The Big Ten East is tough to get through in one piece and Indiana is no exception. The start, or continuation, of Big Ten play, is always an agonizing and exciting time of the year. Regardless, this should be an easy win for Head Coach James Franklin and company. The novelty of being back in Beaver Stadium could wear off quickly if this is the start of the season. The Nittany Lions shouldn’t have an issue beating the Wildcats, but fans could quickly lose interest in attending games in person if Penn State sits at 1-2. However, if Penn State enters the game against Villanova with two losses, it won’t be a happy occasion. This game is meant to be a buffer before the start of Big Ten play. He will have two games to warm up before trekking north to Penn State so the Nittany Lion secondary better be ready. I know the other teams on the schedule, but you’ve got to win the first one.” Auburn quarterback Bo Nix played in 11 games in 2020, threw for 2,415 yards, 12 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Harsin stated, “We’re getting ready for September 4th against Akron. If Auburn Head Coach Bryan Harsin is thinking about the White Out he didn’t allude to it at SEC media days. Auburn should also be undefeated entering this game due to the first two games on its schedule being Akron and Alabama State. If the Nittany Lions can get over the hump that is Wisconsin to start the season, they should be undefeated entering this night game. This is something that Penn State fans, players, and coaches have been waiting for for over a year. The White Out returns to Beaver Stadium on September 18th at 7:30 pm ET. It will be fun to watch these two square off in September. The senior was also named to the Maxwell Award Watch List for the best all-around college football player. He also tallied eight touchdowns in nine games. Dotson led the Big Ten in receiving yards in 2020 with 884 on 52 catches. Ball State will have to face Penn State’s own Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List designee in Jahan Dotson. The Penn State fans are hungry for a packed Beaver Stadium and Ball State just happens to be the unlucky recipient of the return home. Hall and the Cardinals will enter Happy Valley to likely a very loud crowd for a lesser-scheduled game. He also has at least one reception in every single game he has appeared in. Hall will start the 2021 season leading the nation’s active players in career receptions. The Biletnikoff Award recognizes college football’s outstanding receiver. Fifth-year wide receiver Justin Hall also made the list in 2018. The Cardinals also have a player named to the Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List. They will face the Ball State Cardinals who are slated to repeat as MAC champions. After Wisconsin, the Nittany Lions head back home to Beaver Stadium for the first full-capacity game in a very long time. However, that is not how the 2021 schedule is going to go. Kind of like a tune-up to work through some things before getting into the heavy load of the schedule. Normally this would be the first game of the season. Two years prior the two faced off in the Big Ten Championship in 2016 with Penn State coming out on top 38-31. Penn State last played the Badgers in 2018 and won the contest 22-10. Wisconsin is generally a strong team that leads the West. The first game of the season is usually someone from a smaller FBS conference or even an FCS school, however, this year Penn State starts the season at arguably the toughest Big Ten West team. Let’s take a look at these first-half opponents. The first half of the season ends at Iowa. After that game though it is four home games for the Nittany Lions, including the newly announced White Out game. The season starts off with a big test against Big Ten West foe Wisconsin. 2021 Penn State Football Schedule Part One It’s never good to dwell on the past, so let’s look at the 2021 Penn State Football Schedule. The shortened season was highlighted by injuries to key offensive players that the Nittany Lions just couldn’t overcome. Instead, Penn State finished the season 4-5. They decided not to attend a Bowl Game that would have put the team at. Last season was a shortened one due to COVID-19 and the Nittany Lions did not do well. There are less than 10 Saturdays until Penn State Football is back on a TV near you. Being halfway through July puts everyone one step closer to the 2021 college football season. yellow star art, Star polygon Pentagram Gold Yellow, Golden five-pointed star, angle, stars, golden Frame png 1000x1000px 45.31KB.round gold star logo, Star frame A, Stars Border Frame, white, border Frame, painting png 7971x8000px 2.96MB.white star illustration, Triangle Star Font, neon stars, blue, angle, stars png 800x842px 96.16KB.glitter stars, brilliant, star, sparkle png 1181x1181px 158.32KB.Star Black and white, star, angle, white, leaf png 980x994px 12.66KB.xchng graphy, 3D Gold Star, angle, symmetry, gold png 1000x1000px 308.83KB Star, gold stars, angle, 3D Computer Graphics, triangle png 845x882px 251.4KB.Light Star Motif, Golden light stars, orange sparkling light, texture, angle, white png 1000x1000px 987.94KB.White shining stars, texture, angle, rectangle png 1500x1499px 382.98KB.stars illustration, Star Euclidean, hand-painted stars, watercolor Painting, angle, white png 2661x1568px 227.36KB.Star, star, super Mario Bros, geometric Shape, mario png 1862x1774px 1.21MB Blue Star Sky, Blue Star, galaxy illustration, texture, blue, atmosphere png 1920x3464px 6.86MB.Star Euclidean Illustration, Flashing stars, white, symmetry, cartoon png 1500x1500px 185.52KB.Star, star, angle, star Of Bethlehem, objects png 1343x1270px 83.91KB.
The Oak Ridge Associated Universities website quotes a “National Fallout Shelter Sign” fact sheet: You may remember these signs, and you can still find them in the basements of older buildings. ISO says that good safety signs give information “that relies as little as possible on the use of words to achieve understanding.” For example, consider what went into designing fallout shelter signs during the Cold War. Their standards for brewing tea may not be the most popular, but their list of approved safety signs is used the world over. The International Organization for Standardization (also known as ISO in Greek “isos” means “same”) publishes international norms for all sorts of things. International standardization makes sure that these signs are understood by everyone, even if they don’t speak the local language or can’t read at all. But artists and experts around the world meticulously design safety signs so that they are easily visible and understandable, especially under duress during an emergency. Most people don’t think about safety signs until they need them. Warnings of occupational hazards like high voltage, biohazard, etc.Instructions for emergencies on airplanes, boats, and trains.Markers for AEDs and fire extinguishers.Egress markers showing the way out of complicated or tall buildings. In addition to the million or so exit signs you’ve seen in your life, other common life and fire safety signs include: In dangerous situations, they tell you what to do, where to go, and where to find vital equipment. Romero created the modern zombie film during times of great social change in the world, they resurfaced at the height of the recession and war on terror in the early 2000s, and now that we're in the midst of an era of international political turmoil, I've noticed some pretty good zombie movies popping up again. It's likely the success of that series has a role to play in the way zombie movies have withered at the cinema, either because audiences are burnt out or zombie fans are getting their fix at home. Is it genre burnout? Did audiences tire of the undead the way they tired of Westerns? It's possible, but unlikely considering the success of one pop culture juggernaut: AMC's The Walking Dead, which has triumphed in ratings since it debuted back in 2010. But, in terms of volume and often quality, the zombie movie has taken a backseat in recent years. There's still a lot of, ahem, hunger for the genre in indie cinema. In the years since, the production on zombie movies has drastically slowed, especially at the studio level. There were post-modern deconstructions ( Cabin in the Woods, Zombieland), clever mutations to the DNA of the creatures ( Mulberry Street, Pontypool), foreign films ( Rec, The Horde), remakes of foreign films ( Quarantine), and animated films ( ParaNorman), not to mention all the straight-up entertaining low-budget shlock that was hitting DVD shelves en masse. What was even more amazing was how many of them were worth watching. By the end of the early '00s, there were literally dozens of zombie movies a year (and more of them than ever had the word "zombie" in the title). If the godfather of zombies was back, Zombies were definitely back. Edgar Wright's meta zombie comedy was a love letter to the genre, a razor-sharp deconstruction of the zombie classics, and a zombie classic in its own right. The next year, Romero released Land of the Dead in theaters, his first directorial return to zombies in three decades. Then Shaun of the Dead happened, and the genre shifted once again. At the same time, indie zombie movies started getting really good, pushing the boundaries of the conventional zombie mythology and using the narrative format to tell strange original stories. All were big-budget studio films with nationwide theatrical rollouts. First Danny Boyle's genre-evolving 28 Days Later set the stage, then came the Resident Evil adaption, and Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead remake. Until the new millennium hit and then, hot dog, zombie business wasn't just booming again - it was bigger than ever. The creature had become a core concept in the genre, but outside of ongoing horror sequels ( Return of the Living Dead, Zombie) low-budget fright flicks, and the occasional genre oddity ( My Boyfriend's Back, Cemetery Man and Dead Alive), the undead walked the earth no more. Then, as quickly as it exploded, the zombie went out of fashion. Filmmakers like Dan O'Bannon, Fred Dekker, and Stuart Gordon came along and toyed with the genre constructs fans of Romero's work who built off his foundation to further explore and expand what a zombie movie could be. Italian horror legend Lucio Fulci picked up the concept and ran in his own direction with it, first with Zombi 2(aka Zombie), then with his much more bizarre and experimental "Gates of Hell" trilogy. At the same time, an entire genre sprung up around Romero's works, spanning the globe. |
